Kintsugi Announces a Brand Refresh: Speaking Up for the Unspoken

In 2019, Grace Chang, a software engineer and Rima Seiilova-Olson, a machine learning scientist, found common ground on a shared frustration with access to mental health care and a drive to do something about it. The problem was simple, but the solution proved more complex: people needed mental healthcare, but current infrastructure was not sufficient or scaleable. So Grace and Rima put their minds together to do what they do best: innovate with the goal that their work would benefit those who shared their struggle. Since then, Kintsugi has gone from the product of a shared challenge of two passionate women founders to a mission turned into action: revolutionizing the quality and scale of mental health support everywhere, changing the status quo of mental healthcare in the process.

In the past couple years, we have ventured into an unexplored frontier, taken risks, and created impact beyond the scope of what we had ever imagined. While the core of our mission will never change, time and experience have taken Kintsugi from a company backed only by its small team to one supported by consumers, enterprises, investors, partners, and science. We have expanded from our original consumer voice journaling mobile app to scaling our technology to create Kintsugi Voice, an API platform for enterprise, and now doubling down on our goal to integrate our novel voice biomarker technology with clinical call centers, telehealth platforms, and remote patient monitoring apps. From our very first grant from the National Science Foundation to our most recent round of Series A funding, our company, our work, and our team have grown leaps and bounds – and as we continue to learn and create, we want our brand to reflect the version of Kintsugi we have grown to become.

We are excited to announce our branding refresh, a refined representation of who we are, what drives us, and what we work towards every day. We’re incredibly proud of what we have accomplished, and our progress is proof that we’re not stopping here. Our brand refresh is a reflection of Kintsugi at heart: innovative, empathetic, and courageous. While this is a transformational shift, our core mission remains the same: to scale mental healthcare for all. In ensuring that everyone who needs mental healthcare has access to the right care at the right time – we continue to envision a world where you don’t have to speak up to be heard. These goals help steer our big and small decisions and also raises our stakes in elevating the parity of mental health to that of physical health.

We hope that exploring our new brand identity and expression helps you see and feel our mission, our journey, and our ambition.  More importantly, though, we hope it helps you see mental health differently.
